Overhire Carpenter
We are looking for freelance carpenters to join our team on a project to project basis. Rate is $35/hr. Occasionally we will work overnights or weekends so be sure to let us know if you are flexible. Experience
-
4+ years of carpentry experience in a fabrication shop
-
4-6 years of experience in theatre, events, film, etc.

Event or activation install experience, a plus
-
Must be experienced with hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery
Skills:
-
Able to interpret and work from technical drawings
-
Experience with woodworking, construction, and fabrication
-
Be able to work in high pressure situations
-
Maintain quality standards
-
Problem solving
-
Valid driver’s license with a clean record (ideal but not required)

Big plus if you are comfortable with driving our company van

MEGA plus if you are comfortable with driving trucks
Abilities:

Build basic flats
-
Can lift 4x8 sheets no problem

Working on feet all day

Able to lift up to up to 75 pounds

Must be able to follow directions and drawings

Work independently as well as part of a team

Responsibilities

Help with installs and strike (it's okay if you can't be at both)

Help sand and prepare scenic and prop elements for finishing

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Follow project specifications, deadlines, and quality standards

Collaborate with the Lead Carpenter and Shop Foreman to complete projects efficiently
-
Help unload lumber or steel deliveries
